Staff Engineer
Grid Dynamics, a fast growing professional services company recently named a «Cool Vendor» by Gartner, is looking for Senior Windows Deployment Engineer. We work primarily with large enterprise customers, companies such as Microsoft, eBay, Macys and PayPal, who rely on our expertise in scaling mission-critical systems. To support our growth, we are looking for experienced deployment engineers with strong Windows skills.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in development of particular system components
- Design and implement technical solutions in the IaaS/PaaS space
- Produce high quality, tested and documented artifacts
- Create, evaluate and select options for technology design
- Work with engineering managers to estimate implementation effort and staffing
- Coach and mentor junior engineers

Requirements:
- 3–5 years of hands-on systems/applications engineering experience
- Strong Linux skills (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred)
- Good networking skills (Ethernet switching, IP routing) is a plus
- Experience in delivering and running complex, highly available systems in production is a plus
- Experience in building and supporting reliable systems using open-source software
- Ability to work on every level of the stack, from the application down to the OS and network
- Strong Java background (JVM, Spring, Hibernate)
- REST/Web Services experience is a plus
- Javascript/jQuery experience is a plus
- Python background is strongly preferred
- Ruby experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of SQL-based DBMS (at least MySQL)
- Experience with NOSQL systems is a plus
- Experience with messaging brokers and frameworks (RabbitMQ) is a plus
- Ability to work with DVCS (Git, Mercurial, Baza)
